It’s Just a Kitchen

My bare feet hit the floor and I started winding down the hall, my eyes barely open, my mind barely working. Out the window I could see that the moon was high over the neighborhood. I stopped for a moment to take in all of its stillness. In a way, it made me feel lonely, [...]

Poll: Your Opinion Matters

Poll

Look, we’ve been seeing each other for a little over a year now and I want to take things to the next level. We’ve got a good thing going on, you and me, and I’m happy we met. So, I’m leaning across the proverbial table and I’m asking you for a favor. Would you let [...]

A Hearty Thanks

Thumbnail image for A Hearty Thanks

We have to talk. I’ve been away from Epi-Ventures a lot lately but I can assure you that it hasn’t been in vain. This little blog-that-could has turned things upside down on [...]

Oh friends, this week has been full of me click-clicking around the office, designing diagrams, refilling my coffee cup, answering phones. Here are a few that I’m particularly excited about — especially as a former graphic designer at Cincinnati Public Schools and as a current student at the Midwest Culinary Institute. April is turning out to be a very fun month, indeed!

Cooking for the Ronald McDonald House

A 13-year old girl whizzes by me in her wheelchair and parks herself next to my sister, who is slicing pieces of butternut squash. Her eyes are wide and as she carries on about her dream to one day become a chef, I notice bags of liquid attached to her chair. This girl — precocious, [...]
